Brough Parish Council, Cumbria

The Parish Council usually meets at 7pm on the second Monday of every month except January and August.


Agendas are posted on the Parish Council notice boards (outside the Reading Room in Main Street and on the hill in Church Brough) at least three clear working days before meetings. Agendas are also available here: Agenda MPM

Minutes of meetings are available by following this link Monthly Minutes or by prior arrangement with the Parish Clerk. You can see copies of the Annual Parish Meeting Minutes and the Annual General Meeting Minutes by following the highlighted linked text and the latest Annual Report here.
All meetings are open to the public and prior to each meeting a public participation session is available for residents to raise matters of concern.
The Annual General meeting and the Annual Parish Meeting are usually held on the same night as the Parish Council meeting in May each year. The latest annual accounts and the Audit can be checked here: Annual Accounts

BROUGH PARISH PLAN, 2018-2019

• Restoration of the clock tower – application for Heritage funding, collect history of the clock
• Continue negotiations with CCC regarding the Transfer of Land at Musgrave Lane – woodland border, recycling centre, allotments, grazing
• Continued litter picking campaigns – autumn and Pre-Easter/Spring
• Proposed devolution of EDC assets – toilets, play area, footway lighting, Jubilee Gardens - liaison with calc and EDC to develop a strategy
• Bench and fence maintenance programme to continue
• Plants - continue planting and upkeep
• To support and encourage public transport services into/out of Brough
• To support the local youth activities within the parish
• Continue Appleby Fair liaison with MASCG to ensure minimal disruption during the fair period
• Continued successful liaison with Cumbria Highways Stewards
• Continued liaison with UECIC via two BPC representatives – devolution of assets, KS – Brough cycle way, land transfer, village clock, public transport, ‘No Cold Calling Zone’ (NCCZ)
• Continued observations re EDC planning applications
• Continue with maintenance of MUGA surface
• Introduction of a ‘No Cold Calling Zone’ (NCCZ)
